Primary research areas
Public sector management and organisation
I have analysed and taught a variety of topics, including organisational reform, decision-making processes, patient involvement, standardisation, and leadership development. The studies have been guided by a communications theoretical approach
The green transition of the agro-industry
Agriculture is at the heart of the planetary crises. I am interested in the organisational conditions for the transition of agriculture to green production.
Knowledge and ignorance
Knowing what to know and what not to know is an important issue for organisations. I look at the functions and practices involved in producing and maintaining ignorance.
Methodology
I contribute to discussions about how to develop research problems that lead to surprising results.
We don't need to picture the future to start making it better now
My research contributes knowledge about
- How the agricultural industry can become greener
- The roles organisations play in addressing planetary crises
- The structures and semantics that shape organisational change processes
In my teaching, I contribute knowledge and reflections about leadership in public organisations – and how to methodically investigate it.
