Who is it for?

This programme is designed for ambitious maritime professionals who want to deepen their understanding of the business side of shipping and logistics.

We welcome all ranks and roles — from deck officers to engineers — as long as you have a solid grasp of business English and a desire to grow.

How is it delivered?

The programme is 100% online, giving you complete flexibility to learn when and where it suits you.

You will gain access to a variety of high-quality, pre-recorded video lectures, complemented by live online sessions with CBS faculty. These interactive sessions offer direct feedback, expert guidance, and the chance to explore real-world challenges with experienced educators.

Our teaching model is built around the 50-25-1 principle, designed to maximise engagement and learning across time zones:

  • 50 We cap each course at 50 participants to ensure personal attention and meaningful interaction.
  • 25 Teaching is delivered in focused 25-minute segments, followed by quizzes or activities to reinforce learning before continuing with the next 25-minute session.
  • 1 Every participant receives a one-to-one session with a CBS lecturer, offering tailored feedback and support throughout the course.

What sets CBS apart is our close collaboration with industry partners. Our teaching is informed by current practice, and our educators bring both academic rigour and hands-on experience from the maritime sector. Through this unique blend, you will gain insights that are not only relevant – but immediately applicable.

International Trade and Macroeconomics

Understand how macroeconomic forces shape global shipping. 

This course provides practical insight into trade flows, fiscal and monetary policy, and the interaction between goods and financial markets. Learn to apply key models to real-world maritime contexts, assess how openness to trade and finance impacts decision-making, and strengthen your ability to analyse and communicate economic challenges within the maritime industry.

Microeconomics and Strategy

Strengthen your competitive edge in the global maritime industry. 

This course gives you a strong microeconomic and strategic foundation to understand how maritime markets really work, from cost structures and pricing dynamics to strategic choices in complex, regulated environments. 

You will gain hands-on experience with economic models and analytical tools used to assess risk, regulation, and sustainability impacts, and turn insight into action. By the end of the course, you will be equipped with practical skills that enable well-informed decision-making in demanding, international business contexts.

► LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS ◄
To enrol in the Copenhagen Maritime Business programme, it is essential that you speak and understand English at a professional level

All teaching, course materials and one-to-one sessions are conducted in English, reflecting the international nature of both the programme and the maritime industry.

Prices and costs

Each of the three courses in the Copenhagen Maritime Business programme is priced at: 
DKK 4,750 (approx. €640).

The total cost for all three courses is: 
DKK 14,250 (approx. €1,920).

Please note: Students with citizenship outside the EU/EEA and Ukraine are required to pay an additional participation fee of DKK 1,085 per course, as CBS does not receive state funding for these students.

For students outside the EU/EEA and Ukraine, the price per course is:
DKK 5,835 (approx. €780).

The total cost for all three courses is:
DKK 17,505 (approx. €2,340).
