Resilient Supply Chains for a Disrupted World
I am an Assistant Professor at Copenhagen Business School’s Department of Operations Management. I completed my PhD in Operations and Supply Chain Management at Kühne Logistics University in Hamburg, Germany, before continuing her academic career as a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Production and Operations Management at ETH Zurich, Switzerland.
My research examines how supply chain actors prepare for and respond to the uncertainty in today’s dynamic and complex environments. Specifically, my empirical work focuses on supply chain resilience in the context of large-scale disruptions, including events such as the COVID-19 pandemic and geopolitical conflicts. Through case study research methodologies, I investigate how supply chains adapt to and transform in response to major disruptions.
Furthermore, I examine how innovative technologies can contribute to enhancing supply chain resilience, with a particular focus on additive manufacturing and its implications for supply chain design. In addition, I engage in future-oriented research on the design of next-generation supply chains. In this work, I explore how supply chains can be (re)designed to address emerging global challenges and support long-term sustainability and resilience.
I was a visiting researcher at Aalto University in Finland and Loughborough University in the United Kingdom and worked on research projects with Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) and the World Economic Forum. In addition to my academic work I bring extensive industry experience, having worked with companies such as the medical company Dräger, the FMCG company Beiersdorf, the automotive company Daimler, and the shipping company Hamburg Süd.
