New online course 'Sustainability and Stakeholders: Tensions and Balances'
Mass Open Online Course on improving stakeholder relations to enable better and more balanced sustainability strategies
Developed by Esben Rahbek Pedersen and Kirsti Reitan Andersen, the course focuses on a core challenge in corporate sustainability: balancing the needs and expectations of different stakeholders.
The starting point is simple but often overlooked: weak sustainability implementation frequently stems from imbalanced stakeholder relationships. When these tensions are not managed, they can lead to conflict, inefficiencies and missed opportunities.
Learning to navigate them is therefore central to making sustainability work in practice.
Across 8 modules, learners will:
- Build a foundation in stakeholder theory (including insights from R. Edward Freeman)
- Explore how sustainability plays out across organisations and stakeholder groups
- Engage with real-world cases
- Develop practical approaches to more balanced sustainability strategies
The course also features contributions from Susanne Stormer and Colin Melvin.
Beginner-friendly, ~9 hours, fully online
Includes a shareable certificate
