Birthe Larsen named People’s Helper of the Year
Birthe Larsen, Associate Professor at the Department of Economics, has been named People’s Helper of the Year by Danish People’s Aid (Dansk Folkehjælp).
The award recognises Birthe Larsen’s contribution to the public debate on economic inequality, poverty and social mobility in Denmark. Through her research and public engagement, she has highlighted how economic inequality affects people’s opportunities in life and what growing disparities can mean for society.
In presenting the award, Danish People’s Aid emphasised Birthe Larsen’s important role in bringing research on poverty and inequality into the wider public conversation.
