Susana Borras
Presentation
Susana Borrás is Professor at the Department of Organization at Copenhagen Business School (CBS), Denmark. She holds a Degree (UAB, Barcelona) and a PhD (EUI, Florence) in political science and sociology. She conducts research on the interaction between governance and innovation. Her research interests are on the following related topics: the design of innovation policy and its instruments, the governance of change and scale-up processes in socio-technical systems, the organizational strategies of legitimation in science and technology regulatory areas, and the organizational capacity and processes related to social learning and policy learning.
 
For more than two decades Susana Borrás has advised governments and institutions at international and national levels on matters of science, technology and innovation policy. She is currently member of the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences (ATV), and Member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Centre for European Studies, Sciences-Po Paris, France. From 2013 to end-2016 was board member of the Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm. In 2010 she was member of the group of experts who conducted the mid-term evaluation of the EU’s FP7, which served as a basis for the political discussions that lead to the new EU’s framework, the so-called “Horizon 2020”. And in 2010-2014 was member of the Danish Research Policy Council, advising the Danish Minister and Parliament.
