Presentation

My research revolves around the role of (what we used to call) disciplines and discourses of research quality, methodology and epistemic authority across fields. A continuous research interest is the emergence, development or decline of fields, including the relationships between academic practices and disciplines in Information Studies and the Information Field. In 2017, my paper Liberating interdisciplinarity from myth. An exploration of the discursive construction of identities in information studies received the 2016 John Wiley Best Paper Award.

Primary research areas
