Course content

The course offers an introduction to the complexity of climate change and business. Combining lectures and interactive exercises the students learn about the science behind climate change (greenhouse gases, their relationship to weather and climate), how climate change will affect different regions of the world, and which actions can be taken. The students learn about how theoretical lenses to analyze climate change and business (e.g., stakeholder theory). The students will analyze the climate change risks and actions of a company.

What you will learn

After the course, the student can

  • Be familiar with how the climate is likely to change and how this will affect business in different regions of the world and possible actions related to climate change
  • Describe risks related to climate change
  • Explain voluntary and mandatory business actions
  • Analyze a case company selected by the student group regarding its risks and strategies related to climate change
  • Critically evaluate and reflect on their case to develop managerial implications
