Primary research areas

Populism and democracy

My research explores how populism, democracy, and globalization interact to understand challenges and opportunities for democracy and inclusive economic development.

Institutional dynamics

My research examines how institutional dynamics, focusing on changes in political and regulatory environments, influence multinational enterprises and cross-border investments.

Spillovers

I study how spillovers - economic, social, and institutional effects from firms - influence economic and social development.

Shaping resilient democracies and inclusive global growth

I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of International Economics, Government, and Business. My research interests lie at the intersection of international business, politics, and development. I study how institutional dynamics and political risk shape multinational enterprises’ strategies and global investment flows, and how spillovers from firms influence inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

My research helps companies navigate political risk and institutional change, enabling them to make better global investment decisions while supporting policies that promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth for society.

My work has been published in the Journal of International Business Policy, the Academy of Management Proceedings, and Progress in International Business Research. I serve on the Editorial Review Board of the Global Strategy Journal and review for several management and international business journals.

I have received several academic recognitions, including the AOM IM Division Best Dissertation Award, finalist for the Gunnar Hedlund Award, multiple best paper and reviewer awards, and teaching and research scholarships. I was also awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship at LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome.
