Full-Time MBA

Why did you choose the Copenhagen MBA?

I chose the Copenhagen MBA mainly because it’s a one-year programme, and I didn’t want to interrupt my career with a two-year MBA like many other international schools offer. I was also drawn to the small cohort size, which fosters interactions among everyone and creates a sense of community and support in both learning and tackling academic challenges.

Another major factor was my interest in sustainability, an area where Denmark is a recognized leader. The faculty in the MBA programme are top experts in this field, which was a huge plus for me.

What are key aspects of the Copenhagen MBA that you enjoyed or found surprising/intriguing/interesting?

One thing that really surprised me was the level of commitment from my mentors and my career manager (part of CBS). Beyond academics, they were genuinely invested in my well-being in every sense and were people I could trust and turn to for advice. The relationship you build with them is very much up to you—they respect your time and goals but are there to guide, motivate, and celebrate your achievements with you. They truly accompany you throughout the entire process.

What did you find challenging about the programme and how did you adapt?

Coming from a background in communications, advertising, and marketing, I initially found the financial aspects challenging, especially since the programme is one year long and the pace is fast and constant. However, the professors were very approachable and offered continuous support. Additionally, the class is designed to level the playing field so that everyone, regardless of their proficiency in the subject, gets the best education possible.

In the end, I learned a lot about the topic, and it was just a matter of time to adapt to the programme’s pace. Also, there were always classmates willing to support and form study groups where everyone could contribute from their areas of expertise.

What did your internship project entail?

My internship project involved supporting the implementation of sustainable activities within the operations of a renewable energy company. It was a great experience, not only because it allowed me to explore a new industry and apply the knowledge I gained from the Managing Sustainable Corporations course but also because it immersed me in the Danish work culture and helped me develop new skills.

“I truly believe this is one of the programme’s greatest strengths, as the internship contributes to the final MBA project and helps students connect with local companies, explore new roles or industries, and expand their networks.” Stefanie Soto

What are your post-MBA plans?

I’ve graduated from the MBA and am looking for opportunities in Denmark because I’d love to take advantage of the three-year work visa you get after completing this MBA programme.

What advice would you give to those considering an MBA?

If you’re looking for an experience where you can enjoy the culture of a new city while receiving high-quality education that will serve you in your next career move, the full-time MBA at CBS is definitely a great option.

What do you like about CBS and Copenhagen?

Both at CBS and in Copenhagen, there are always activities for all interests, and it’s easy to access them regardless of whether it’s the famous Nordic winter or a hot summer—there’s always something to do, see, or learn. It’s a great country and a great university for not only academic growth but personal growth as well.

Within the CBS campuses, you’ll find all the facilities you need for studying, along with extensive data resources and access to reports that enrich research. The study spaces are also well-suited for spending long hours, whether in the Wing, which is exclusively designed for MBA students, or in the main library.
