Econ professor publish his second top-journal paper in 2018
Professor Peter Bogetoft from Department of Economics has a new top-journal paper. The paper Mix Stickiness under Asymmetric Cost, has recently been accepted by Management Science, one of a selective few so-called J4* top-journals in the area. The paper, which is co-authored by Rick Antle from Yale University, shows that asymmetric information about the costs of different products leads to stickiness – an advantage of the status quo mix. This provides an information economic rationale for a series of phenomena – ranging from the practice of lawn-mowing when an organization has to make moderate savings, the restrictions in product development when production is outsourced, and the intrinsic nature of the non-controllable health care costs.
