I study how the development of digital innovations influences and is influenced by individuals, organizations and society.
Social evaluation theories
I study how negative social evaluations, like stigma, can be triggered or managed by (categories of) individuals and organizations.
Virtual dirty work
I study the lived experiences of data workers training AI agents, uncovering the emotional and identity dynamics involved in this process.
I shed light on the hidden consequences of digital innovation.
My research aims at showing:
- the societal conflicts arising from the use of digital technologies;
- how individuals and organizations’ value and strategic decisions shape, cope with or contrast digital innovation;
- how digital innovation influences individuals and organizations’ identity, emotions and social acceptance.
Recent research projects
D-CORE: Dark Side of Corporate Responsibility
Funded by the Carlsberg Semper Ardens Grant, this research project studies the data work behind the development of (AI) platforms, its toll on digital workers, and associated governance challenges.
