Man­age­ment Ac­count­ing and value cre­ation in Mod­ern En­ter­prises
Mod­ern en­ter­prises face new chal­lenges in terms of ac­count­ing for sustain­ability and in­nov­a­tion as well as the on­go­ing di­git­al­iz­a­tion of cross-func­tion­al pro­cesses and the in­tro­duc­tion of new di­git­al busi­ness mod­els. AI-en­abled Peer Group Iden­ti­fic­a­tion
Tra­di­tion­al in­dustry codes have lim­it­a­tions as they are stat­ic and fail to re­flect how mod­ern firms op­er­ate across mul­tiple sec­tors with dif­fer­ent busi­ness mod­els. AI tech­no­lo­gies of­fer new op­por­tun­it­ies: By lever­aging NLP, ma­chine learn­ing, and ad­vanced clus­ter­ing tech­niques, we can de­vel­op more ad­vanced peer groups and in­dustry bench­marks
Aud­it­or Stress
The audit­ing pro­fes­sion has a repu­ta­tion for of­fer­ing a “high stress” work en­vir­on­ment. But are aud­it­ors more stressed than, say, law­yers and doc­tors? What causes stress in the audit­ing pro­fes­sion and what are the long-term con­sequences for so­ci­ety? I ad­dress these and oth­er is­sues via large-sample re­search based on pseud­o­nom­ized mi­crodata from DST

I ex­plore how tech­no­logy yields new op­por­tun­it­ies for fin­ance pro­fes­sion­als

I am a researcher but also a professional educator and entrepreneur in the areas of accounting and finance. I conduct my research at CBS and work with co-authors from around the world. I teach Master's, MBA and Diploma classes in management accounting, financial value creation, and related topics at CBS and perform guest lectures at other universities. I always cherish the opportunity to work with business professionals in companies as an instructor as well as on research projects. 

I believe the greatest societal impact can be achieved by educating curious, critical, and collaborative finance professionals and by working directly with practitioners on researching practical issues. I strive to live this vision through applied academic work but also by experimenting with new business ventures, creating innovative solutions that solve real-life issues based on my research.
