Primary research areas

Climate-friendly consumption practices

I am interested in exploring how and why consumers choose to incorporate climate-friendly considerations in their everyday consumption practices (or, does the opposite) as a lens to explore how sustainable consumption becomes mainstream.

Consumer Culture Theory

How are markets shaped through consumption and marketplace actors, and how do marketplace actors make sense of the world they live in through consumption?

I explore consumer culture and sustainable consumption

My research interests are rooted in consumer culture theory and, especially, in how contemporary consumers make sense of, find meaning in or refuse to engage in sustainable consumption.

In my PhD research, I have focused on climate-friendly food consumption and explored various marketplace actors’ role in the transition towards climate-friendly food consumption.
