Com­pu­ta­tion­al or­gan­iz­a­tion the­ory uses com­puter sim­u­la­tions and math­em­at­ic­al mod­els to study how or­gan­iz­a­tions be­have, ad­apt, and evolve. It helps ex­plore com­plex sys­tems, de­cision-mak­ing, and in­ter­ac­tions with­in and between or­gan­iz­a­tions.

The com­mu­nic­at­ive con­sti­tu­tion of or­gan­iz­a­tion (CCO) as­sumes that or­gan­iz­a­tions are not pre-ex­ist­ing en­tit­ies but are con­tinu­ally brought into be­ing through com­mu­nic­a­tion. In­stead of see­ing com­mu­nic­a­tion as something that merely hap­pens with­in or­gan­iz­a­tions, CCO em­phas­izes that con­ver­sa­tions and texts con­sti­tute the very struc­tures, rules, and iden­tit­ies that make up or­gan­iz­a­tion­al life.
