Collaborative governance and research impact
I examine how digital technologies shape who becomes visible, who is exposed to harm and who can participate—and how organisations can collectively govern these effects in ways that protect democratic voice.
My research examines how digital platforms and artificial intelligence shape visibility, voice and participation in organisations and democratic public life. I study how platform affordances, algorithmic amplification and content moderation make some actors visible while marginalising or exposing others to harm. My current research programme extends this work to technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV) against politically active women and LGBTIQ+ people. Drawing on organisational communication, information systems and sociomateriality, I coordinate interdisciplinary, multi-country research that connects digital ethnography and qualitative inquiry with computational mapping. A central concern is how research evidence can be translated into accountable platform governance, responsible media practice, organisational safeguards and public policy through multi-stakeholder collaboration.
