Employee Ownership
Drivers and barriers for employee ownership, understood as companies where the broad group of employees quite equally own the majority. Different types of employee ownership and their economic performance. What are the pros and cons of different types of employee ownership? Theory and empirical evidence with focus on Denmark, France, Italy, Spain, UK and USA.
Politics, institutions and economy in the BRICs
I have developed a PIE-model to analyze the development and interactions between politics, institutions and the economy. The PIE model is applied to analyze the development in Brazil, Russia, India and China. The focus is on the development after the economic liberalization in the 1980s or 1990s.
Why are there so few employee-owned firm in Denmark - how to promote them?
Compared to France, Italy, Spain, UK and USA we have very few employee-owned companies in Denmark. What can we learn from these countries. One of the main explanations is probably the lack of relevant legislation and weak support organizations. But it may also be argued that the overall institutions for being a wage-earner in Denmark are relatively good making less pressure for employee ownership.
New legislation from 2026 may promote employee ownership if adjusted in the right way. As a researcher it is important to follow the process, analyze the results, and contribute with suggestions for improvements.
