Leveraging Entrepreneurship for Societal Transformation
My research explores how entrepreneurship can address pressing societal and environmental challenges, with a particular focus on Indigenous peoples and communities in the Global South, with a focus on Latin America. By examining how entrepreneurial initiatives intersect with local culture, agency, and development, I aim to ensure that entrepreneurial models empower communities rather than impose external models.
I have worked at the intersection of academia, policy, and practice and collaborated with NGOs, international organizations, and policymakers to advance socially responsible business practices, rights-based approaches to climate action, and inclusive development strategies. My teaching on Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Corporate Social Responsibility aims to equip my students to embed sustainability and social justice into their work. My teaching relies on an experiential approach, bringing real-world cases and practitioners into the classroom to bridge theory and practice and inspire action-oriented learning.
Through my publications, policy briefs, and public engagement, I contribute to rethinking the role of entrepreneurship in society, advocating for approaches that align economic opportunities with social and environmental issues. My ambition is to bridge research and action, ensuring that entrepreneurship becomes a tool for resilience, dignity, and social justice.
