Philosophy and psychoanalysis

Researching the philosophy of desire and love, Lacanian psychoanalysis, feminist philosophy, poststructuralism, ethics.

Postdisciplinarity and academia

Experimental, creative and relational knowledge processes. Combining literature, art and knowledge production.

Tourism studies and service management

Advancing critical tourism studies and applying philosophical, sociological, ethical approaches to travel and services

Philosophical thinking and creativity to reimagine the world

My scholarship is postdisciplinary and applies philosophy, psychoanalysis, art and experimental writing to address the question of how to live. My current research focuses on the topics of desire and love, the body, Lacanian psychoanalysis, feminist philosophy, the philosophy of Jean-Luc Nancy, and relationality. I develop new ways of knowing and foster generous academic communities. One of these is the Critical Tourism Studies network that I co-chaired. I lead creative writing workshops and innovative editorial projects. My gender research contributes to social justice and combines academic publications with advocacy and action research projects.

I have hold leadership positions in international and national organizations, networks and councils in academia and in tourism studies. For this work, I have received multiple recognitions, including the 2024, Shaw-Mannell Award, University of Waterloo, Canada, for outstanding career research achievements in leisure scholarship.
