Primary research areas

Impact of large-scale funding

Interested in exploring how changes in field-level financial structures precipitate changes in organizational goals, structures and temporal boundaries.

Extreme Contexts

Research examines the ways in which individuals and organizations navigate and make sense of extreme crisis situations

Connecting lived experiences to lasting change

As a Postdoctoral Researcher at Copenhagen Business School, I study how large-scale funding shapes the priorities, collaborations, and goals of organizations. Funded by the Carlsberg Foundation, my work examines how shifts in funding influence what knowledge is produced and how it addresses societal challenges. Alongside this, I draw on my doctoral research on the lived experiences of irregular migrants in Europe, conducted through trauma-informed fieldwork across Europe and South Asia. Both strands of my research share a common aim: to understand how systems, resources, and human experience intersect — and to translate these insights into inclusive, evidence-based policy. With a background as a civil servant in Pakistan and publications in leading journals, I bridge academic rigor with practical policy engagement to contribute to more equitable and impactful governance
