Primary research areas

Expert networks
My research examines the role of experts and organizational networks in the digital and green transitions, with a focus on green finance, environmental reporting standards, and cooperation and contestation between activists and investors.
Financial infrastructures
I study evolving financial infrastructure of green finance that shapes environmental governance, financial markets, and the trajectory of the green transition.
Mixed Methods
I combine qualitative methods, including semi-structured interviews and document analysis, with computational approaches such as social network analysis, text analysis, and career sequence analysis

Who defines what counts as 'green' in green finance?

I am a Postdoctoral Fellow in International Political Economy. I study how socio-technical infrastructures, expert networks, and market devices shape the green transition. I am particularly interested in how seemingly mundane infrastructures, such as standard and reporting frameworks, define what counts as "green" and influence who has the authority to decide.

My research focuses on the political economy of green finance, reporting standards, and algorithmic sustainability. I examine how experts and organisations, including invesotrs, regulators, activists, and standard setters, enable or constrain green finance as financial markets respond to climate change. I also investigate how international reporting standards make the environmental impact of AI visible or keep it opaque, and who benefits from these forms of opacity.

My research is methodologically eclectic. I work with a mixed-methods approach that integrates qualitative methods, such as semi-structured interviews and observation, with computational social science methods, including social network analysis, text analysis, and career analysis.
