Søren Hen­ning Jensen

My research explores how scholarship can matter beyond academia. I focus on two interlinked areas: how management and organization research produces policy implications, and how professional identities shape professions and governance. Both speak to a central concern — how knowledge and practice connect in society. 

In my work on policy implications, I develop frameworks that help researchers craft insights that inform governance and decision-making. This allows management scholarship to move from abstract theory to actionable knowledge that policymakers and organizations can use to address societal challenges. 

In parallel, I study professional identity as a lens for understanding how professions adapt, defend, and redraw boundaries. By examining cases such as legal tech firms alongside established professions, I show how identity mechanisms influence both continuity and change in professional life. 

What motivates me is bridging the worlds of theory and practice. My ambition is to generate research that advances academic debates while also guiding institutions, policymakers, and professionals in navigating the complexities of a changing world.
