Primary research areas

Family businesses succession & valuation practices
I enjoy research that seeks to gain a deeper understanding of profitability in family business successions, including its promoting and inhibiting factors, as well as valuation practices.

I hope my research can help family businesses and other market participants critically reflect on important aspects of succession and valuation practices.

My research focuses on family business succession and valuation practices. It seeks to deepen understanding of profitability and valuation in family business successions, exploring both promoting and inhibiting factors of succession. Family businesses are vital to economic and social stability, yet their continuity and profitability are often challenged during succession. I study potential drivers of firm performance around succession events as well as valuation practices. Together, I hope that my research can help family businesses and other market participants reflect on the multifaceted nature of family business succession and the key aspects of valuation practices.
