In order to obtain the PhD degree, Annika Stenström has submitted her thesis entitled:

Expert Battles in Financing the Green Transition

This PhD thesis examines how experts, expertise, and organizations shape the emergence, stabilization, and contestation of green finance. Taking its point of departure in the tension between the rapid expansion of green finance and the persistent failure of climate change mitigation, the dissertation draws on International Political Economy and Science and Technology Studies to approach green finance as an evolving financial infrastructure. Across four empirical studies - spanning EU sustainable finance, sustainability reporting standards, the classification of stranded assets, and ESG contestations - the thesis shows how experts and organizations cooperate and contend over the objects and definitions through which green financial infrastructure is created, maintained, and contested.

The thesis will be available from research.cbs.dk
