Student assistant with an interest in sustainability, regulation and finance to Center for Corporate Governance
Do you want to become a part of a dynamic research team focusing on Nordic corporate governance issues such as boards and strategy or sustainable governance? Center for Corporate Governance (CCG) is looking for a student research assistant with an interest in research including for example data and statistics, data collection on government and EU regulation of sustainability, literature gathering and review, and assistance with preparing academic papers and reports.
CCG is a leading center when it comes to analyzing the interactions between companies, shareholders and boards. Our primary focus areas include ownership structures, sustainability, purpose, governance structures, compliance, impact from regulation, board practices, CEO tenure and CEO pay among Danish and international firms. As a student research assistant, you will be a member of our research team and contribute within these areas. You will share an office with our great team of student assistants.
About the job
The student assistant must have an interest in sustainability and finance and will work on a project investigating regulatory divergence in environmental and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in Danish multinational companies that operate both in the US and the EU. Tasks and responsibilities include desktop research, data collection, assisting with paper formatting, proof reading, interview transcriptions, report writing, assistance for our events, etc.
About you
We value the following qualifications:
- Preferred master’s student in Economics, Finance, or Business and Politics.
- Has finished at least two years of undergraduate studies.
- Has experience with statistics and working with quantitative data. Using tools such as R, Stata or similar is an advantage.
- An interest in government/EU regulation of business sustainability.
- Is diligent and careful and can pay attention to details.
- Can work independently and ensure progress in assigned tasks.
- Takes great interest in CSR and sustainability related topics and ideally has some experience in research within this area.
- Has a positive attitude.
- Great written and oral presentation skills in English (similar to native level).
- Knowledge of Danish or other Scandinavian languages is an advantage.
- Experience with Survey Design software is not required but is an advantage.
- Is comfortable with also working remotely as some of the professors overseeing the project are based abroad.
Salary and terms of employment
The working hours for the position are 10-15 hours per week as needed. We value mutual flexibility and strive to adapt to busy periods, such as exam periods.
Employment takes place in accordance with the HK organisational agreement and the Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Publicly Employed Organisations (OAO-S Collective Agreement).
The salary currently ranges between DKK 144.80 and DKK 151.90 per hour and is dependent on previous employment in the office profession and level of education. The pension contribution amounts to 16% of the pensionable salary components.
It is a prerequisite for employment that you are an active student at a higher educational institution.
