How to apply to Summer University depends on which student category you belong to. Find out how and when to apply and withdraw from courses.
How to apply
Application round for summer 2026
The first application round is:
27 January at 12:00 CET - 14 April at 12:00 CEST.
There is a second application round for 2-week courses:
20 April at 12:00 CEST - 5 May at 12:00 CEST.

Apply in the MoveOn application portal
You apply in the application portal MoveOn. You will find a link to MoveOn under your student category below.
The course registration in MoveOn is not on a first come, first served basis.
If you want to make sure that your selected courses are not cancelled due to a low number of applicants, we recommend that you apply early in the application round.

Before you apply, please make sure that you know which student category you belong to since the admission requirements for each category vary considerably.

Exchange (Panel content)
Requirements for exchange students
To apply for CBS Summer University as an exchange student, you must meet the following requirements:
- You must be officially nominated by your home university to take courses at CBS Summer University.
- You can sign up for a maximum of two 6-week courses for a total of 15 ECTS.
- You fulfil the prerequisites for the courses you want to apply for. Please see Course preparation.
Tuition fee
There are no tuition fees for exchange students.
For an example over budget costs, please see budget/expected expenses.

Make sure that you read and fill in all the required information carefully.
You can find guides on how to log in and fill in an application at the bottom of this page.
Preparing your application
You will need to fill in the following information:
- Your personal data
- Your student category: exchange
- Select the 2 courses that are your main priority.
We also recommend that you choose alternative courses to each of your priorities to increase your chances to get enrolled at the Summer University. However, choosing alternative courses is not mandatory, so do not select any if you do not want to take them.
Documentation
A copy of your current grade transcript
This must be in English, Danish, Swedish or Norwegian.
A print out from the university system is acceptable but it must include your name, the university and your grades.
If your transcript is not in one of the stated languages, you must upload either an authorized translation or a translation signed by your home university. Transcripts in other languages will not be assessed as part of your application.
A copy of a valid passport
The photo page and residence permit stickers, if applicable or EU/national identity card stating your citizenship. The documentation must be valid until the end of the application round as a minimum.
Please note that a driver’s license is not accepted.
Additional information
Special aids for teaching and exams
Regretfully, CBS does not offer any special exam or teaching aids for exchange students. If you need specific aids, you need to bring your own from home to CBS.
So, if for instance, you are visually impaired and you need specific aids in order to complete your courses, e.g. special software programs to enlarge text in reading materials, you must bring those aids to CBS from your home university.
AURORA (Panel content)
Requirements for AURORA students
To apply for CBS Summer University as an AURORA student, you must meet the following requirements:
- You must be officially nominated as an AURORA student by your home university to take courses at CBS Summer University.
- You can only choose between one of the four AURORA courses stated below.
- You fulfil the prerequisites for the courses you want to apply for. Please see Course preparation.
Tuition fee
There are no tuition fees for AURORA students.

Make sure that you read and fill in all the required information carefully.

You will need to fill in the following information:
- Your personal data
- Your student category: AURORA
Select one of the following courses:
- BHAAI1097U An introduction to Social Entrepreneurship (3-week course)
- BHAAA2501U Business Responses to Climate Change (2-week course)
- BHAAA2502U Permaculture: A Regenerative Solution for Business, Community and Lifestyle (2-week course)
- CGMAI3022U Social Entrepreneurship and Business Model Innovation (3-week course)

To apply for CBS Summer University as a credit transfer student, you must meet the following requirements:
- You must be a full-time student at another Danish educational institution.
- You must be an EU/EEA/Swiss citizen or have a permanent residence permit for Denmark.
- You must have a pre-approval of credit transfer from your own educational institution. Read more about pre-approval below under Documentation.
- You fulfil the prerequisites for the courses you want to apply for. Please see Course preparation.
If you do not fulfil the requirements, you must apply in another student category.
Tuition Fee
There are no tuition fees for credit transfer students as as long as you upload a pre-approval of credit transfer from your own educational institution before the application deadline.

All documentation including your pre-approval of credit transfer must be uploaded to your application by the application deadline, otherwise your application will be rejected.

Pre-approval of credit transfer
This must be in Danish or English from your Danish educational institution.
The pre-approval must be an official document that states that the specific courses you apply for can be credit transferred to your current studies. The pre-approval must not be dated earlier than December 2025.
Please note that an application for pre-approval is not sufficient.
A copy of valid passport
The photo page and residence permit stickers, if applicable or EU/national identity card stating your citizenship. The documentation must be valid until the end of the application round as a minimum.

Non-European/Freemover (Panel content)
Requirements for Non-European Students/Freemovers
To apply for CBS Summer University as a non-European student/Freemover, you do not need to fulfil any requirements.
However, we strongly recommend that you make sure that you fulfil the prerequisites for the courses you want to apply for. Please see Course preparation.

Payment and refunds
Payment
Payment deadline is:
- 14 April 2026 in the first application round
- 5 May 2026 in the second application round
Please note that your application is conditionally approved until we have received the tuition fee. If you need a visa, we will issue an acceptance letter once we have received the tuition fee.
You pay by making an international bank transfer of the exact amount in DKK payable to Copenhagen Business School:

- It is very important that you state the following text in the message field on your transfer: Summer26 (student name) for CBS Accounts Department to identify your payment.
Please note: you must pay all bank transaction fees, including those of the receiving bank, when you make a bank transfer. Make sure to instruct your bank not to share the fees but to debit all fees on the debit account.
Refund
You can withdraw from the programme and have the tuition fee refunded by sending an email to summer@cbs.dk no later than 15 May 2026.
If you do not get your first or second priority, we will offer you another course. If you do not accept it, we will refund the paid amount within a month.

Once your course registration has been confirmed, you cannot change the courses. This also applies if you are taking courses to qualify for admission at CBS and you are notified by CBS Admissions that you need other courses in order to qualify.
You should also be aware that enrolment at CBS Summer University does not entail that you fulfil the entry requirements for full-time programmes at CBS or that you are guaranteed admission to full-time programmes at CBS. Find more information about admission to CBS graduate programmes on cbs.dk.

To apply for Summer University as a single course student, you must meet the following requirements:
- You must be an EU/EEA/Swiss citizen or have a permanent residence permit for Denmark. If you do not have one of the listed residence permits, you will need to apply as a Non-European Freemover.
- You fulfil the prerequisites for the courses you want to apply for. Please see Course preparation.

Payment and refunds
Payment deadline is 11 June 2026.
Please note: If you are taking summer courses as supplementary courses, please wait to pay the invoice until 10 June when CBS Admissions has informed you if you are accepted to a graduate programme or not.
You will need to pay by an e-payment invoice. CBS Accounting will send payment instructions to your CBS email by end May/start June 2026.
- You pay the invoice(s) by logging into CBS epayment with your CBS username.
Refund:
When you have paid the invoice, we do not refund the payment.

If you want to take electives or a mandatory course at Summer University as a part of your study programme, you must apply in the Online Student Service.
How to apply - MoveOn
You apply for CBS Summer University via the application flow: MoveOn.
The application portal MoveOn will open once the registration period starts.

Course changes
There is no waiting list for full courses. Even if someone withdraws from the course, it will not necessarily open a place, as we overbook all courses a little to make sure, we do not have empty places once the classes start.
We will overbook all courses in relation to the number of places in each course. So even if someone else withdraws, this will not necessarily leave a place to be filled.
Changes will be communicated without delay.
Course withdrawal
If you want to withdraw from a course, you need to do so before the withdrawal deadline.
When and how you withdraw, depends on your student category:

Before you apply (Panel content)
Find your student category
Make sure that you apply in the correct student category and that you meet the requirements and have all the documentation you need.
Read more about what applies to your student category at the top of this page.
When selecting your courses
- Make sure that there are no time conflicts between your preferred and alternative courses - please check the course and exam schedules on Bachelor courses, Master courses and Exams.
- Exchange students must choose two preferred courses
The allocation of courses is not based on first come, first served.
Please note: you will not be able to change your registration, once your registration has been confirmed. This will also apply if you are notified by CBS Admissions that you need other courses in order to be admitted to CBS.
How to access MoveOn (Panel content)
Have you applied for Summer University before?
If you have applied for summer university before, you are already registered in MoveOn. You must log on with the e-mail address and password you used when registering.
Forgot your password?
If you have forgotten your password, press "Forgot your password?". You will be asked to type in your e-mail address and you will receive an e-mail with information on how to register a new password.

First time you apply for Summer University?
If it is the first time you apply for Summer University, you must register your name and e-mail to get access to MoveOn
You cannot change your e-mail address
You will not be able to change your e-mail address once you have registered. It is important that you have access to your e-mail account so you are able to receive information from the CBS Summer University team during the application process.
Complete your registration
After having pressed the button "Register", you will receive an e-mail with a link to activate your application profile. Check your spam folder if you haven't received the e-mail within minutes.
You are now asked to type a password twice and confirm the registration.

How to apply (Panel content)
There are two applications listed when you log on to MoveOn:
- Application for CBS Summer University: You need to fill out this application
- Document follow-up form for CBS Summer University: You will only need to fill out this form if you get an email asking for additional documentation
How to fill out your application (Panel content)
Once you are logged in to the application portal, you can start creating your application. On the left side of the page you will see the headlines of different sections.
Description of the various sections:
Information
In the information section you find practical and technical information about filling about the application form.
Take your time to read this information.
Personal information
Enter your name exactly as it appears in your passport, enter your birthday and other contact information etc.
When you have filled in all data, you mark the box "Mark as complete" at the bottom and press "Next".
If you press "Save progress", your changes will be saved and you can return to your application later.
Emergency
In the emergency section you must type name and contact info on a person we may contact in case of emergency

Student Category
Read about the various student categories in this section. Find more information about the the Student Categories above
Choose your student category.
Answer the questions
Questions about the specific category will appear on the page, when you have chosen your student category,
- Answer the questions
- Upload relevant documentation. You must upload everything as one file.
When you have filled in all data, you mark the box "Mark as complete" at the bottom of the page and press "Next".
Grade transcript
Your grade transcript must include your name and university name.
If you have not passed any exams yet, please send a confirmation from you home university that says that you are enrolled as a student.
If you do not study anymore, you can upload a copy of your last diploma.
Credit transfer students and CBS mandatory students
If you are a credit transfer student or a CBS mandatory student, you need a pre-approval of credit-transfer. It must include contact information of the person who issued the document and a list of concrete Summer University courses that are pre-approved.
Non-EU/EAA credit transfer student
If you are a credit transfer student from another Danish institution but you are not an EU/Swiss citizen, you must upload documentation that you have paid the full tuition fee for the semester at your home university to which the summer programme courses are going to be part of.
Course choice

To avoid time schedule conflicts before selecting courses check the course and exam schedule:
- Bachelor courses at Summer University
- Master courses at Summer University
- Exams at Summer University
Exchange students
You must choose 2 preferred courses
Supplementary courses for master admission at CBS
If you are taking courses at Summer University to qualify for admission to a master programme at CBS, you should make sure that you choose the correct courses.
Please note that you can only use bachelor courses as supplementary courses for master admission.
Once your summer course registration has been confirmed, you will not be able to change your registration.
This will also apply if you are notified by CBS Admissions that you need other courses in order to be admitted to CBS
Study level
Be sure to choose the correct study level:
- Courses starting with "KAN" are master/graduate level courses.
- Courses starting with BA" are bachelor/graduate level courses.
Number of courses
If you want to get enrolled in two courses you must choose two primary courses. In this case, you fill out
- "Primary course (1)" and
- "Primary course (2)
If you want to choose an alternative for "Primary course (1)" you choose "Alternative course (1)".
If you don't want an alternative course for "Primary course (2)" you skip it.
Prerequisites
Mark the check box with "yes", confirming that you fulfill tre prerequisites as described in the course description(s).
Once completed
When you have filled in all data, you mark the box "Mark as complete" at the bottom of the page and press "Next".
Declaration of consent
Read the information on the page and mark the check boxes.
When you have filled in all data, you mark the box "Mark as complete" at the bottom of the page and press "Next".
Submit your application
You can submit your application when all the sections in the menu on the left are marked with green check marks.
You cannot make changes after submitting
Enter all data carefully since no further changes will be possible after submitting your application.
Press "Submit".
Confirmation
You will receive a confirmation email when your application has been submitted.
If you don't receive the confirmation email, please check your spam folder.
