Internationalization, strategy, and informality in global markets

My research lies at the intersection of strategy, organizational theory, and international business. I pursue three agendas:

The organizational design of international business, particularly focusing on the complexities that arise as firms disperse activities to foreign locations.

The internationalization and innovation strategies of multinational enterprises, with a particular emphasis on emerging market firms’ ability to catch up with advanced economy industry incumbents.

Firm dynamics in the informal economy, with a particular focus on understanding drivers, processes, and outcomes of informality.
