International Economic Law
My research examines how international economic law governs trade in a changing global order. I focus on the interaction between economic rules and non-trade values such as sustainability, climate concerns, and human rights, as well as the role of institutions like the WTO in shaping global governance and how it affects businesses.
International rule of law
I investigate how international and regional courts contribute to upholding the rule of law in times of geopolitical fragmentation. My work explores the normative and institutional foundations of the international legal system, and the methodologies adopted by legal institutions to safeguard cooperation and reduce trade conflict, and how it...
EU-China Trade Relationship
I study the legal dynamics of EU–China economic relations, including tensions between market access, including antidumping, security concerns, European values, and China’s Belt and Road Initiative. This research considers how EU law and international trade law frame cooperation and conflict in one of the most strategic trade relationships of...

I see Law as Light guiding cooperation in a fractured world

My research explores how international and European law can foster cooperation, protect the rule of law, and address global challenges, like climate change, trade and non-trade values, and global justice. I study how legal institutions reduce conflict, build trust, and create fair frameworks for collaboration across borders.

I contribute to debates on the future of the EU, global governance, and sustainability by showing how law can be both a safeguard of values and a driver of change. My work engages with policymakers, international organizations, and civil society to translate complex legal principles into practical solutions.

Beyond research, I am committed to academic citizenship: I teach large and diverse student groups in innovative ways, facilitate dialogue across disciplines, and engage in public debate on Europe’s role in the world.
