Strong turnout at CBS Meet & Greet links second-year shipping students with industry ahead of 2026 internships

Frederiksberg, 31 October 2025 — CBS hosted a successful edition of its annual Meet & Greet on Friday, bringing together second-year students from the BSc in International Shipping and Trade (IST) and companies across shipping and logistics. With the official internship start date set for 2026, the event squarely spotlighted the program’s nine-month mandatory internship—the defining bridge between classroom learning and industry practice.

“ Meet & Greet exists to launch internships: nine months on the job starting 1 September 2026. The formula works—up to 80% of our graduates receive job offers as they finish, many from their host companies ” Liping Jiang

Throughout the afternoon, employers met prospective interns, compared role requirements, and shared first-hand perspectives on life in freight forwarding, liner operations, chartering, analytics, and supply chain management. Many companies brought current interns and recent IST graduates, giving students candid insights into day-to-day responsibilities and early-career progression.

The IST program’s practical emphasis is complemented by a strong international dimension.

“One of the main attractions of our program is the mandatory exchange component,” Jiang noted. “We partner with carefully selected universities that offer highly qualified academic shipping programs and have strong ties with the local shipping industry. This gives our students invaluable global exposure and networking opportunities, significantly enhancing their learning experience and their resumes for future careers.”

These elements—global exposure plus extended, structured work experience—are central to why the program continues to attract strong applicant interest, including under the quota 2 admissions pathway. Many students cite the integration of theory and practice as decisive, and employers consistently highlight IST students’ ability to contribute from day one.
