Svend E. Hougaard Jensen is a professor of economics at the Department of Economics at Copenhagen Business School (CBS). He is also director of the Pension Research Centre (PeRCent) at CBS and non-resident fellow at Bruegel. Moreover, he is an advisor to the London-based Coller Pensions Institute (CPI), a member of the Scientific Council of the Dutch Network for Studies on Pensions, Aging and Retirement (Netspar), as well as a member of the Pension Research Institute in Iceland (PRICE).  He holds an MSc (Econ) degree from the University of Aarhus, an MA (Econ) degree from the University of Manchester and a PhD (Econ) degree from the London Business School.  His research has focused on topics such as generational and macroeconomic effects of changing demographics, public and private pensions, fiscal policy in the EU, sustainability and management of public debt, financial stability, structural reforms, and macroeconomic policy in general. He has published widely on these issues in scholarly journals and books. He has considerable experience as a member of government advisory bodies, including the Systemic Risk Council in Denmark and Danish Council for Research and Innovation Policy.
