Primary research areas
The four day workweek
What is a four day workweek? How is it implemented? And what are the implications for everyday work-tasks? These are some of the questions I have focused on in my research on the four day workweek
Management of self-management
What does it mean to self-manage? How does self-management varies with work-tasks and notions of freedom? What does it take to manage self-management? And how can various forms of formalization and organizational design promote or create barriers for self-management? These are some of the questions in my research on management of self-managemen
Habits
What is a habit and how does habits matters in change management? This a topic I have researched in various ways.
‘What if work-life wasn’t what we’ve always assumed it to be?’
My research explores how work-life can be reimagined beyond the mainstream. I study how organizations experiment with new ways of working whether through a different time structure such as the four-day work week, or by granting employees greater self-management and decision-making authority. I examine what these forms of experimentation mean for everyday life: for the habits people develop in such organizations, for management and leadership practices, and for the responsibilities and commitments of employees. My research helps reimagine how organizations can thrive by placing people at the heart of everyday practice
