A Cor­por­ate Gov­ernance Per­spect­ive of Cor­por­ate Sustain­ability
This re­search agenda in­cludes mul­tiple pro­jects in­vest­ig­at­ing how and through what mech­an­isms cor­por­ate gov­ernance struc­tures, pro­cesses, and prac­tices shape so­cial and en­vir­on­ment­al sustain­ability out­comes for firms across in­ter­na­tion­al in­sti­tu­tion­al con­texts.
D-CORE: Dark Side of Cor­por­ate Respons­ibility.
Fun­ded by the Carls­berg Sem­per Ar­dens Grant, this re­search pro­ject stud­ies con­tent mod­er­a­tion work with­in plat­form com­pan­ies, its toll on di­git­al work­ers, and as­so­ci­ated gov­ernance chal­lenges. Through this re­search, I aim to in­form hu­man‑centered gov­ernance strategies for plat­form‑based or­gan­iz­a­tions.
The Ante­cedents of Cor­por­ate So­cial Ir­re­spons­ib­il­ity
Fo­cus­ing on top man­age­ment and board of dir­ect­ors, this re­search stream aims to un­cov­er mo­tiv­a­tion­al trig­gers of dif­fer­ent kinds of ir­re­spons­ible cor­por­ate be­ha­vi­ors in large mul­tina­tion­al com­pan­ies.

I re­search, teach and ad­vise how firms can be­come re­spons­ible glob­al cit­izens.

I am an expert on corporate governance and how and through what mechanisms it affects responsible and irresponsible firm behaviors including CSR, ESG, stakeholder management and mismanagement. I have published over 25 research papers and book chapters in high impact peer-reviewed Journals and Academic Presses such as the Journal of Management, Journal of World Business, Global Strategy Journal, Journal of Business Ethics, British Journal of Management, Business & Society, Journal of Management Inquiry, Corporate Governance – An International Review, California Management Review, and MIT Sloan Management Review, Oxford University Press, Emerald, SAGE, Edward Elgar Publishing, and Research in the Sociology of Organizations.  
 
My research has received awards and nominations from reputed international associations and academic journals including the Carlsberg Foundation, Business & Society Journal, Journal of World Business, the Academy of International Business, the International Association for Business & Society, European Academy of Management, the Latin American Council for Management Schools, and the Society for Business Ethics.  
 
Over the last decade and a half, I have advised various for-profit and non-profit organizations, entrepreneurs, and social enterprises. I am a frequent commentator on all things Business & Society on popular media. My work and commentaries have featured in media outlets such as Finans, the BBC, the Irish Times, the Financial Times, the Conversation, the Observer, Business Standard, and Business Post (among others).
