Primary research areas
I research, teach and advise how firms can become responsible global citizens.
I am an expert on corporate governance and how and through what mechanisms it affects responsible and irresponsible firm behaviors including CSR, ESG, stakeholder management and mismanagement. I have published over 25 research papers and book chapters in high impact peer-reviewed Journals and Academic Presses such as the Journal of Management, Journal of World Business, Global Strategy Journal, Journal of Business Ethics, British Journal of Management, Business & Society, Journal of Management Inquiry, Corporate Governance – An International Review, California Management Review, and MIT Sloan Management Review, Oxford University Press, Emerald, SAGE, Edward Elgar Publishing, and Research in the Sociology of Organizations.
My research has received awards and nominations from reputed international associations and academic journals including the Carlsberg Foundation, Business & Society Journal, Journal of World Business, the Academy of International Business, the International Association for Business & Society, European Academy of Management, the Latin American Council for Management Schools, and the Society for Business Ethics.
Over the last decade and a half, I have advised various for-profit and non-profit organizations, entrepreneurs, and social enterprises. I am a frequent commentator on all things Business & Society on popular media. My work and commentaries have featured in media outlets such as Finans, the BBC, the Irish Times, the Financial Times, the Conversation, the Observer, Business Standard, and Business Post (among others).
