Exams (Panel content)
After allocation
After allocation you will be connected to Digital Exam. Here you can see your exams and who your exam administrator is. You are always welcome to contact your exam administrator if you have any questions.
Digital Exam (DE)
CBS uses the digital exam portal Digital Exam (DE). eksamen.cbs.dk
You can find guides and further information about Digital Exam at CBS via our webpage on Digital Exam support. You must use Chrome or Safari as your browser. Access exam support here.
Oral on-campus exams
You can access CBS’ guest wifi. You are welcome to contact Campus Desk if you need help. For IT support, please contact IT support on 3815 3715 or helpdesk.it@cbs.dk
If you fall ill or are otherwise prevented from attending, you must inform your exam administrator as soon as possible, and preferably also the examiner.
Exam schedule in Digital Exam
You will find the exam schedule for your oral exam in Digital Exam. This is also where you will find the date, time and classroom for your exam.
How to proceed
- When you log on to Digital Exam at eksamen.cbs.dk you will land on the page "My exams". On this page you can see a complete list of all your exams by clicking "Exam schedule".
- To see the exam schedule for a specific course, you must first click on the exam itself and then click "Exam schedule" on the right-hand side of the screen.
- For oral on-campus exams students are asked to arrive at the start of the exam session if they have a slot in the morning or at 11:00 if they have a slot in the afternoon.
- For oral exams based on a written product, students must arrive two hours before their exam time.
Borrowing a computer
If you do not bring a computer or iPad, there will be limited access to borrowing a laptop at CBS. The loan only applies for one day at a time. The computer must not leave CBS. It is pre-connected to the guest network.
Your exam administrator must be informed no later than three days before the exam that you wish to borrow a computer so that it can be reserved for you. The exam administrator will email the information to Campus Desk. You must show up at Campus Desk at either Dalgas Have or Solbjerg Plads at the earliest at 7:45. (For exams at Solbjergvej, the loan computer is collected at Solbjerg Plads).
After the exam the computer must be returned to Campus Desk at Solbjerg Plads or Dalgas Have no later than 20:00 (the same place where it was collected). If the exam runs over several days, the procedure above is repeated.
Plagiarism/cheating
If you suspect plagiarism or cheating, you must inform the examiner, who will then report the matter to CBS Legal.
Generative AI permitted in most exams from the 2025–2026 academic year
From the 2025–2026 academic year it will be permitted to use generative AI (GenAI) in all exams and final projects in compulsory courses as well as compulsory courses offered as electives.
GenAI will, however, still not be permitted in written on-campus exams.
From 2026–2027 the policy will be extended to include electives, making the use of GenAI the general rule for exams across CBS.
At the same time, there is room for academic judgement. Where the use of GenAI is assessed not to support the learning objectives of the course, the course coordinator can exclude the use of GenAI by clearly stating this in the course description.
Read: Guidelines for the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in exams at CBS, September 2025 (.pdf)
Grading
Grading must be carried out in Digital Exam (DE).
For oral exams the grade must be registered immediately after the examination.
For written exams grades can be registered on an ongoing basis. Grades will only become visible to students when both the examiner and the external examiner have entered and submitted the same grade.
Handling written assignments and storing assessment notes
The secure handling of written assignments must follow the recommendations for handling written assignments.
It is important that notes are stored for at least one year due to the possibility of complaints and re-take exams. Notes containing sensitive personal data must then be shredded.

External examiner reporting
It is important that you submit an electronic report so that we can continuously improve the exam conditions. For your information, you will be evaluated by the examiner.

Fee and travel expenses (Panel content)
Payment for exam activities
After the exam you will receive an email from CBS’ payment system LONCEN stating either
- that the payment has been sent directly for salary processing (for written exams) and that you do not need to take any action, or
- that the payment awaits your completion and approval before salary processing (for oral exams).
Salary is paid based on the exams you have completed during the exam period. No fee is paid for assignments that are completely blank, where no attempt has been made, or in cases of non-attendance. The most frequently used norms can be found under the “Norm overview” tab.
Deadlines for salary payment
The deadlines below must be met to ensure that salary is paid at the intended time.

Remuneration for the first student’s preparation time in oral exams with preparation (excluding final exams)
The external examiner is paid for the waiting time that occurs during the first student’s preparation period.
The fee corresponds to the norm for one oral exam regardless of whether the preparation time is shorter or longer than the oral examination itself. This applies only to ordinary oral exams with preparation and not to final exams such as bachelor projects or master theses.
Minimum remuneration of one hour for oral exams (excluding final exams)
A minimum of one hour is paid. This means that for a twenty-minute oral exam, three students must be remunerated, even if only one student attends. For a thirty-minute oral exam, two students must be remunerated, even if only one attends. This applies only to ordinary oral exams and not to final exams such as bachelor projects or master theses.
Reimbursement of travel expenses
Please note: Only travel within Denmark, the northernmost part of Germany and the Øresund region is reimbursed.
Travel under 24 hours
No hourly or daily allowances are paid for travel lasting less than 24 hours. Transport and reasonable expenses for meals and similar costs are reimbursed only upon documentation. Travel time is not compensated.
Travel over 24 hours
If the external examiner assignment, including transport, lasts more than 24 hours, hourly and daily allowances are paid in accordance with the applicable rules.
What do hourly and daily allowances cover?
- Daily allowances are paid for every full 24 hours of official travel. For additional hours, hourly allowances are paid for each commenced hour.
- The level of daily allowances is stated in the current rate adjustment circular.
- If the external examiner receives free meals during the official travel, hourly and daily allowances are reduced. Breakfast is calculated as 15%, lunch as 30% and dinner as 30% of the daily allowance rate.
- If hourly or daily allowances are received and breakfast is mandatory at the hotel, breakfast is considered to have been taken there, and a deduction of 15% of the daily allowance rate is made.
Travel expenses must be entered into the LONCEN system, and receipts must be uploaded as specified. Submission and approval must take place no later than 14 days after the exam.

Transport (Panel content)
Consider your transport
You are required to follow the state rules for travel expenses. For transport you must choose public transport where possible (train, bus, metro). Transport expenses are reimbursed only upon documentation.
Transport expenses that can be reimbursed
Please note: Only travel within Denmark, the northernmost part of Germany and the Øresund region is reimbursed.
- Train and other forms of public transport
- Ferry
- Flights (must be approved by the exam administrator before tickets are purchased)
- Travel by private car / bridge tolls (assessed by the external examiner based on the state rules for travel expenses)
- Taxi expenses are accepted only to a very limited extent. If special circumstances justify the use of a taxi, a written explanation must be attached.
Travel by private car
- You may use your private car if this is considered the most practical and economical solution overall.
- For travel by private car mileage reimbursement is paid according to the state’s lower rate.
Parking
If you wish to park your car free of charge in CBS’ car parks you will need a parking permit. To obtain a guest parking permit you must send an email to Information Services on email: information@cbs.dk with the following information:
- External examiner
- Your name
- Registration number/licence plate of the car you wish to park
- Your mobile number
- Period/date
- The CBS programme for which you will act as external examiner

You will then receive the permit by SMS on your mobile phone. Parking attendants check your licence plate, so you do not need to place anything in the windscreen. It is your own responsibility to check that the information in the SMS from CBS is correct.
It is important that you check the permit for any errors. If you find any, please contact Information Services by email at information@cbs.dk or via CBS’ main number on 38 15 38 15.
Please note: External examiners and guests at CBS may only park at street level. Be aware that CBS does not have street-level parking at Porcelænshaven, and the nearest CBS car park is therefore at Solbjerg Plads 3.

Requests to travel by air must be approved by the exam administrator BEFORE you purchase the ticket.
Contact your exam administrator if you have any questions about the above.
