Primary research areas
Migrants’ integration policies
My research focuses on migrants’ integration policies. Recently, I have studied the causal effects of citizenship on the integration of migrants and their children.
Discrimination and Inequality
In this strand of my research, I document economic inequalities in post-colonial contexts. In recent works, I investigated the counterproductive effects of stigmatizing policies that marginalize communities.
I study today’s societal challenges: racial inequality, migration
I study how migration and inequality affect people’s lives, opportunities, and communities. My research connects the past with the present—showing how the legacies of colonization continue to influence today’s patterns of integration, discrimination, and social cohesion. I use a wide range of data, from historical archives to modern administrative records, to understand these challenges and highlight solutions.
