I am where technology, ambition, and reality meet

My research lies in the domain of megaprojects, particularly those aimed at modernising transport infrastructure systems. I investigate why large-scale infrastructure projects often fail to deliver on their promises, and how we can design better approaches to help them succeed, not just in technical terms, but in meeting societal goals.

My research helps:

- Megaproject organisations reduce risk of delays

- Policymakers rethink how to modernise transport infrastructure in more effective ways

- Megaproject organisations to develop strategies for delivering technological transformation

I am motivated by a simple question: Why do so many megaprojects go wrong, and what can we do about it? My big ambition is to contribute to a more reflective, grounded, and socially responsible approach to infrastructure development.

I am also interested in the idea of fragility, not in physical materials, but in how actors, technologies, and ambitions of megaprojects become brittle when exposed to uncertainty. I am exploring how megaprojects respond, or fail to respond, when things don't go as planned, and how we might create systems and practices that are more resilient, adaptive, and even antifragile.
