For companies
At CBS, we work closely with the business community. When our students engage with organisations, they gain insight into real challenges, build valuable relationships and develop the skills they need to step confidently into their careers. Companies gain access to curious and ambitious students with fresh, up-to-date perspectives.
We develop the solutions of tomorrow – together
“ Solutions to complex challenges can never be developed behind closed doors: They require partnerships across sectors and perspectives, but also across students and companies ” Peter Møllgaard

Internships (Panel content)
Academic internship – in brief
Many CBS students can do an academic internship as part of their programme. The internship links theory and practice and creates a valuable collaboration for both students and organisations.
The internship must be approved by CBS and ends with an exam, which the organisation does not take part in. The timing, duration and weekly hours vary from programme to programme.
How an academic intern can contribute
An academic intern is primarily here to learn — while also bringing fresh knowledge, methods, and perspectives from CBS. Interns can, for example, contribute to analysis, strategy development, or the development of products and processes.
Benefits for your organisation
With a CBS intern, you gain:
• An engaged and curious team member with a strong academic foundation
• Direct access to new knowledge, research, and methods from CBS
• A fresh perspective on your organisation
• Additional resources for concrete tasks and challenges
Your role as an organisation
A successful internship requires planning and clear expectations. As an organisation, you are expected to:
• Appoint a contact person who introduces and supports the intern
• Include the intern in daily work on equal terms with other employees
• Be flexible if the intern needs to attend classes at CBS during the internship
Tips for planning
1. Start early
Begin planning approximately six months before the start of the internship. Plan according to CBS’s semesters (some programmes have specific requirements for the internship period) and upload your internship posting on CBS’s job portal.
2. Choose the right profile
Consider whether you are looking for a bachelor’s or a master’s student, and which study programmes best match your tasks.
• Bachelor’s programmes
• Master’s programmes
3. Define the tasks
• Give the intern clear and well-defined tasks that can be completed within the internship period.
• Appoint a contact person.
4. SU and recognition payment
Danish students can receive SU during their internship and therefore cannot be paid a salary.
However, you may offer a recognition payment of up to DKK 3,483 per month (taxed and not considered salary).
Please note that the rules may differ for interns coming from abroad.
5. Confidentiality and copyright
Agree from the outset on:
• How the intern may handle confidential information
• Whether sensitive data must be anonymised in the exam project
• Whether the exam project should be submitted as confidential material
As a general rule, the student owns the rights to their exam project. However, if the project is closely linked to your core business, the organisation may hold certain rights.
Project and thesis collaboration (Panel content)
Get qualified input from CBS students
Does your organisation need fresh perspectives on a campaign, your business model, or something else entirely? On CBS' job portal, you can post projects, bachelor’s, and master’s thesis collaborations, and connect with students eager to work on real, business-relevant challenges.
Find students for project or thesis collaboration
CBS students can carry out projects, bachelor assignments, and master’s theses in collaboration with organisations of all sizes. The purpose is clear: students apply their academic knowledge in practice, while you gain analyses and insights that can strengthen your work.
Through CBS' job portal, CBS CareerGate, you can create a project posting free of charge. You can either describe a specific challenge or invite students to propose a collaboration.
When the collaboration involves a master’s thesis
In a thesis collaboration, the student works on a specific problem within your organisation while applying and developing their academic skills in practice.
You are expected to assign a supervisor, and the student will also have a supervisor at CBS who supports the academic and exam-related process. The collaboration concludes with an exam report assessed by CBS.

Master's reform & future recruitment (Panel content)
The Master’s Reform means that, in the coming years, you will meet new types of CBS graduates – and you can already adjust your recruitment to make the most of it.
By 2032, approximately 40% of CBS’s current two-year master’s programme will be converted into one-year master’s programmes and Professional Master's students. The reform will be gradually phased in starting in 2028.
One-year master’s programmes (75 ECTS)
You can recruit graduates who enter the labour market sooner and follow a more focused and specialised study path. Graduates have the possibility to return to the university and take 45 ECTS later in their working life.
Professional Master’s students
More study places will shift to part-time formats where students work alongside their studies. This gives you:
- the chance to attract and develop talent early
- a close link between theory and practice
- employees who contribute from day one
A more flexible education landscape – built for business
CBS is developing programmes that match the skills organisations need. This means:
- greater flexibility through modular and hybrid formats
- graduates with strong subject knowledge and interdisciplinary, transformative competences
- a focus on ethics, innovation, entrepreneurial problem-solving and curiosity
CBS’ goal is to educate graduates who create value and drive change – both as newly qualified professionals and throughout their lifelong learning journey.

• The partnership typically runs for a three-year period.
• New companies are admitted through CBS’ interest list for career partnerships.
• We review the list on an ongoing basis and invite companies when places become available.
• Being on the list does not guarantee a partnership, as we prioritise diversity across industries and professional areas to ensure that the portfolio reflects the breadth of CBS’ programmes.

A CBS Career Partnership is typically established for a three-year period and invoiced annually.
• The annual fee is DKK 20,000 excl. VAT.
• This fee covers the core services included in the partnership.
• Participation in CBS career events and logo on auditorium is an optional add-on.
