Exam registration

All courses at CBS Summer University have an exam. All exams are individual.

You will automatically be registered for the ordinary exam (your 1st attempt) and the retake exam (your 2nd attempt).

About home assignments

Home assignment exams run in parallel with the course and will start on the first day of teaching.

All home assignment exams will take place simultaneously. This means that your exam submissions must be handed in on the same day and time.

If you do not wish to have two simultaneous home assignment exams, please choose other courses with another exam type.

Neither the time nor the exam type can be changed.

Exam peri­ods 2026

Course Exams
2-week courses
(3 ECTS)
Attendance: you must participate in min. 80% of the scheduled teaching, and complete one or two in-class activities.
3-week courses
(7.5 ECTS)

23 June - 13 July: Home assignment written in parallel with the course OR

10 July: 4-hour written sit-in exam at campus

6-week courses
(7.5 ECTS)

22 June - 31 July: Home assignment written in parallel with the course OR

27 - 31 July: 4-hour written sit-in exam at campus

Re­takes 2026

If you do not pass the ordinary exam, you will automatically be registered for the following retake exam.
You can find information on the exam form for the retake exam in the course description.

28 September - 2 October 2026 4-hour written sit-in exam*
5 - 8 October 2026 72-hour home assignment*
Exam date for 2-week courses Exam type for 2-week courses
28 September Oral exam based on written product which must be handed in 2 September 2026.

*Please note that the exam may be changed to an online oral exam. You can see the final exam type in Digital Exam.

Grad­ing & The 7-point grad­ing scale

Grades for all sum­mer courses are based 100% on the fi­nal exam. You can see your grades on the On­line Stu­dent Ser­vice no later than 4 weeks after your exam.

The Dan­ish grad­ing scale is used through­out the edu­ca­tion sys­tem in Den­mark, in­clud­ing uni­ver­sit­ies. The grad­ing scale is com­pat­ible with the European ECTS grad­ing scale and your per­form­ance is as­sessed ac­cord­ing to the ex­tent that you have met the spe­cif­ic learn­ing ob­ject­ives set for your spe­cif­ic course.

Exam at­tempts

3 exam attempts

You have 3 attempts if you are one of the following students:

  • Exchange student
  • Credit transfer student
  • AURORA student
  • CBS mandatory student
  • CBS elective student

The 3 attempts are:

  1. the ordinary exam
  2. the retake exam
  3. the ordinary exam for the summer course the following year. 
    Please note that you must actively register for your 3rd exam attempt in your 2025 course no later than 1 May 2026 via the exam helpdesk

2 exam attempts

You have 2 attempts if you are one of the following students:

  • Single course student
  • Non-EU student/freemovers

The 2 attempts are:

  1. the ordinary exam
  2. the retake exam

With­draw­al from ex­ams

If you want to withdraw from the ordinary exam, you must apply for an exemption. 

If you want to withdraw from the retake exam, you must do so no later than 3 weeks prior to the exam.

Tran­script

When?

In October you will receive a digital encrypted transcript by email if you have passed the course in the ordinary exam. We do not send transcripts in paper versions. 

 

If you do not pass the ordinary exams

If you do not pass the ordinary exams, we will send a new transcript by December upon request with the new grades after the retake exams.

If you have more exams and have passed one of your ordinary exams, this grade will still appear on the new transcript.

How?

De­pend­ing on what type of stu­dent you are, you will re­ceive your tran­script in dif­fer­ent ways. See in­form­a­tion be­low.

Ex­change stu­dent

We will email the transcript directly to your coordinator at your home university.

CBS elect­ive stu­dent

You will not receive a transcript/certificate for CBS Summer University. 

Your grade will be a part of your final diploma. 

CBS man­dat­ory stu­dent

You will not receive a transcript/certificate for CBS Summer University. 

Your grade will be a part of your final diploma. 

Oth­er stu­dent cat­egor­ies

We will email the transcript to your CBS email address.
