Presentation

I have been studying organizations and working for more than two decades, with a specific focus on the development and management of people especially in knowledge intensive or professional organizational settings.
The historical development of the relation between individual and organization has been an enduring interest. Therefore, themes within (Strategic) HRM, HRD, PM, OD, IR and OB have my attention.

I have been working ethnographically using a symbolic interactionist approach to understand the micro-foundations of institutional logics. For instance, the way professionals make sense of contradictory institutional
logics of management in professional service firms (Bévort, 2012).

I am responsible for the administration and following analysis and publication of the Cranet survey (for two iterations, 2014 and 2021 and now the upcoming in 2026), which explores the state of Danish HRM in
organizations with more than 100 employees (the survey is conducted in collaboration with 39 other countries).

I am currently working on projects that investigate how AI influences professional judgment and work (Bevort et al., 2024) and how institutional context shapes HRM practices (Einarsdottir et al., 2025).

This include digitalization and robots within HRM and how machine learning and GenAI affect professional work done by tax professionals, lawyers, midwives, doctors, and car sales professionals.
