I am interested in understanding how firms can become responsible global citizens. Increasingly, we find that corporate irresponsibility (CSI) towards multiple stakeholders continues to rise despite strong institutional and societal pressures against it. Motivated by this conundrum, my research explores sustainable corporate governance mechanisms that can influence and guide responsible firm behaviours. Relatedly, I seek to uncover why some firms outperform others on this dimension, by exploring how heterogeneous institutional contexts underlying country and regional clusters, such as the Middle East, the European Union, and the Emerging Economies, encourage and constrain responsible firm behaviours.
