Ad­ress­ing the gov­ernance chal­lenges of forest con­ser­va­tion

I focus on how societies and global value chains can be aligned with sustainable development and biodiversity conservation. My academic work explores how commodity production affects forests, how digital traceability tools improve supply chain transparency, and how governance networks respond to challenges such as wildfires and climate change. My expertise spans both quantitative and qualitative methods 

Alongside my research, I have extensive experience in fundraising and project management within the EU’s Horizon Europe programme. This includes projects such as TREEADS, which develops innovative approaches to wildfire prevention and forest resilience, and CIR4FUN, which advances circular economy models. Through these initiatives, I help bridge the gap between research and practice while strengthening collaborations across sectors.

TREEADS

TREEADS de­vel­ops in­teg­rated solu­tions to pre­vent and man­age wild­fires, com­bin­ing ad­vanced tech­no­lo­gies with sus­tain­able forest man­age­ment prac­tices. The pro­ject brings to­geth­er pub­lic and private act­ors to build re­si­li­ent land­scapes and re­duce wild­fire risks across Europe.

CIR4FUN

CIR4FUN pro­motes cir­cu­lar eco­nomy mod­els by de­vel­op­ing in­nov­at­ive ma­ter­i­als and busi­ness strategies that ex­tend product li­fe­cycles. The pro­ject helps in­dus­tries re­duce waste, im­prove re­source ef­fi­ciency, and trans­ition to­ward sus­tain­able pro­duc­tion sys­tems.
