Primary research areas

EU Digital Policy
I am interested in how the EU writes digital laws, what informs their regulatory choices, lobbying and the effectiveness of these laws. I am also interested in the comparative dimension of digital lawmaking.
Risk-based Regulation
I work with risk-based regulation in the digital sector, including the reasons that motivate the lawmaker to choose it and the obstacles companies have in complying with risk-based laws. I work with companies trying to understand strategic and organizational issues they face in working with the AI Act, GDPR, cybersecurity laws, platform laws, etc.
Strategic Compliance Management
SCM is a proactive, enterprise-wide discipline that treats compliance as a source of competitive advantage rather than a cost of doing business – integrating legal and ethical obligations directly into business strategy, product design and day-to-day operations

I understand how states write digital laws and what these laws do to businesses and the society.

The Data Driven Home: A Study of the Socio-Material and Legal Construction of the 21st Century Home (DFF – Danmarks Frie Forskningsfond)

The project looks at how smart technologies reconfigure the home, create new relationships and how this challenges the present legal framework for personal data protection.
