Centre for Organizational Research on Impact (CORI)
The Centre for Organizational Research on Impact (CORI) conducts research on the relationship between academia and its societal stakeholders.
About Us (Panel content)
About us
CORI was established in 2023 to support CBS’ impact agenda and to create synergies among several larger grants allocated to its core members. The center brings together AI and organizational scholars who investigate translation processes in order to foster societal impact.
CORI researchers currently focus on three main lines of inquiry:
- The translation of academic knowledge into practice
TITAN examines how managers and consultants interpret and translate academic knowledge. The project traces intended and unintended effects as knowledge changes shape, thereby illuminating processes that lead to societal impact. - The impact of large-scale philanthropy on universities and their fields
GRAND and GRANDER explore how large-scale donations from enterprise foundations—targeted at areas such as sustainability, global health, and AI—impact universities, reshape organizational forms, and drive change at the field level. - The minds behind AI and the societal impact of their profiles
BRAIN investigates how workplace culture and the composition of employees shape AI technologies and their consequences for society. The project combines organizational studies with advanced computational methods.
Research communication
CORI shares its findings through academic publications, research-based education, and engagement with public and private stakeholders. The center uses diverse communication formats, including webinars, podcasts, videos, blogs, social media, and civic initiatives. It also pilots new forms of societal engagement and analyzes their impact.
Leadership
The center is directed by Professor Eva Boxenbaum.
Associate Professor Jane Bjørn Vedel is co-director with responsibility for the research area The impact of large-scale philanthropy on universities and their fields.
