About
Dedicated to building synergies
My philosophy is rooted in creating positive societal impact through research, teaching, and collaborative projects. In academia, we hold the ability and hence the responsibility to analyse and understand society’s many complexities. We also have the privilege of educating and inspiring people from all walks of life - whether they are with us as bachelor students, participants in short summer courses, or are members of the wider public reached through our dissemination channels.
My broad research interest lies in ecosystems, with my current work as a PhD fellow focused on understanding how informal networks (unofficial channels of knowledge sharing and decision-making) influence the green transition in port-cities. From a societal point of view, the aim is to support stakeholders (e.g., companies, policymakers, local communities) in accelerating the green transition, and implementing specific projects in a way that brings sustainable benefits, and is synergetic with the local ecosystem (port-city).
Originally from Bulgaria, I started my professional career in the private and NGO sectors. I joined CBS in 2020 as part of CBS Maritime, and have since worked with other strategic priorities for CBS, namely the Green Office and Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME).
Currently, I teach Introduction to Sustainable Business at a bachelor's level. It is my responsibility to get students excited about how to navigate sustainability dilemmas and shape constructive solutions, and equip them with the knowledge to pursue this further in their studies and careers.
I am also passionate about the intersection of academia and art, and about strengthening academia’s wider positive impact on society - whether through academic entrepreneurship, facilitating the green transition, or addressing other complex societal challenges.
