Onna Malou van den Broek is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at Copenhagen Business School  and a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Sustainable Business and Politics at the University of Exeter Business School. She earned her PhD in Political Economy from King’s College London in 2022; her dissertation on how sustainability influences relations between private firms and transnational governance won the university’s Outstanding Thesis Prize.

Her research focuses on the political dimensions of corporate sustainability, examining how businesses shape and are shaped by global and local governance structures. She has published in the Journal of Management Studies, Business & Society, and Regulation & Governance on corporate political activity, sustainability regulation, and discursive institutionalism.

Beyond academia, she co-organises reading groups on corporate political activity and contributes to integrating sustainability into business education. A finalist for the 2025 AOM SIM Outstanding Paper Award, she aims to bridge the gap between academic research and practice to promote a more sustainable and equitable global economy.
