Communication & Organization Group (COG)
The Communication & Organization Group explores how communication shapes and constitutes organisations, with particular attention to issues of sustainability, accountability, and corporate social responsibility.
About COG
About
The Communication & Organization Group (COG) is jointly affiliated with the Communication, Organization and Governance Cluster at the Centre for Sustainability and the Department of Management, Society and Communication (MSC) at Copenhagen Business School.
Purpose
The group explores the multiple and complex relationships between communication, organisation, and sustainability/CSR through discussions of key texts within these fields.
By exchanging viewpoints and experiences from reading and analysing these works, the group aims to strengthen awareness of diverse theoretical and empirical perspectives and stimulate new research ideas and publications.
Areas of expertise
- CSR communication
- Sustainability communication
- Communicative Constitution of Organization (CCO)
- Communicative institutionalism
- Performativity
- Talk–action relations
Research
The group’s main activity is a monthly reading session focused on discussing classical works and work-in-progress papers.
These sessions alternate between meetings addressing the organisation–communication relationship more broadly and meetings focused on sustainability, accountability, and CSR from a communication-centred perspective. The latter sessions are announced more widely at the Centre for Sustainability to encourage participation and knowledge sharing.
