Connecting global business with political and environmental change
My research examines how geopolitical dynamics and global business strategies intersect, and how these interactions shape innovation, sustainability, and development outcomes worldwide.
I study how geopolitical risk, political hostility, and techno-nationalism influence multinational firms’ R&D strategies and investment choices. This helps companies and policymakers better navigate an increasingly fragmented global economy.
Another focus of my work is on foreign investment in the mining sector and its impact on deforestation and biodiversity loss in tropical regions. By linking firm behavior, ESG commitments, and environmental outcomes, my research provides insights for designing policies and corporate strategies that reduce ecological harm.
As an engaged academic, I collaborate with international scholars, lead interdisciplinary research initiatives, and contribute to public debates on how business can respond to geopolitical and environmental challenges.
