About
The pursuit of knowledge demands that we take data seriously
My research centers on developing statistical models and theoretical frameworks that address the challenges of incomplete and imperfect data — a pervasive issue across scientific disciplines and policy-making. By advancing methods that are valid in the face of missing or uncertain information, my work contributes to more reliable inference and decision-making in real-world contexts. This includes contributions to non- and semiparametric statistics and econometrics, where flexibility and rigor are essential for understanding complex systems without relying on overly restrictive assumptions.
While much of my work is theoretical in nature, it is grounded in a deep interest in practical application. I collaborate across disciplines to ensure that statistical insights are not only mathematically sound but also socially meaningful — whether in economics, health, or public policy. My methods have been used to improve the interpretation of survey data, enhance economic modeling, and support evidence-based decision-making in contexts where data is incomplete or noisy.
At its core, my research is driven by the belief that better statistical tools lead to better societal outcomes. In a world increasingly shaped by data, ensuring that our models reflect the uncertainty and complexity of real life is not just a technical challenge — it is a civic responsibility. Through both teaching and research, I aim to equip others with the tools to think critically about data and to use it responsibly in service of the public good.
