Leadership for the Future: Executive Education
CBS Executive Foundation has launched a new program that turns the Leadership for the Future report into hands-on executive learning designed for senior leaders navigating complexity and change.
The CBS Leadership Think Tank—a group of over 50 researchers and executives—explored what leadership looks like in a world of high complexity and constant change. Their work produced the Leadership for the Future report, which introduced a “new vocabulary for leadership” with concepts like Orchestrating Speed and Rhythm, Sustaining Moral Compass, Enabling the Organisation, and Bridging Diversities. These findings highlighted the critical capabilities future leaders need to succeed.
The enthusiastic response to the report, including numerous requests for masterclasses and training, showed that leaders are eager to build these future-oriented competencies in practice.
A new executive program inspired by the Think Tank findings
CBS Executive Foundation has launched a new initiative based directly on the report’s insights. The program, titled Accelerating Leadership for the Future, is designed to equip experienced senior leaders with the skills needed to navigate a rapidly changing and complex world.
Leadership capabilities for a changing environment
Accelerating Leadership for the Future is not a typical leadership course. The program targets the core competencies identified as essential for tomorrow’s leaders and emphasizes strengthening these capabilities to address emerging challenges.
Participants learn how to lead with purpose, act with courage, and ensure continuity in times of uncertainty. By focusing on these areas, the program helps leaders develop a clear sense of mission and values, the courage to innovate and make bold decisions, and the ability to maintain resilience amid disruption. These future-ready skills ensure that leaders can adapt and thrive even as their environment becomes more unpredictable.
A unique faculty combining research and practice
The calibre and composition of the faculty set this program apart. Sessions are taught by esteemed CBS researchers alongside experienced executives from the Leadership Think Tank. This blend creates a strong synergy between cutting-edge research and real-world practice.
Participants gain access to the latest academic insights and practical perspectives from leaders across the private sector, public sector, and NGOs. The learning environment is highly collaborative, with theory continuously linked to real leadership dilemmas. Discussions benefit from the diverse expertise of both instructors and senior-level participants, ensuring that lessons are directly applicable to the complex challenges leaders face.
An intensive and flexible learning format
The program is structured in an intensive yet flexible format suitable for busy professionals. It spans nine days, delivered in several modules over a few months, allowing participants to balance learning with ongoing responsibilities.
This multi-module structure gives participants time to reflect on insights and apply them between sessions. The program is offered to a select group of participants, fostering close interaction and networking within the cohort. All instruction is conducted in Danish, making the experience directly relevant for leaders working in a Danish context.
By the end of the program, participants will have strengthened their leadership skill set, built a valuable peer network, and gained a deeper understanding of how to lead with purpose, courage, and continuity.
