Unlocking fair pricing and control in innovation and supply chains
Associate Professor Sof Thrane at Copenhagen Business School’s Department of Operations Management investigates how participative pricing control and management accounting systems shape organizational relationships and innovation networks. Her research examines how pricing and control technologies influence supply chain relationships, value creation, and fairness perceptions, especially in service-intensive and transformation contexts.
In her 2025 study, Managing a Double‑edged Sword: The Paradoxical Dynamics of Participative Development of Pricing Control, Thrane explores tensions in collaborative pricing design, while her 2024 work on Price Fairness Evaluations examines how customers interpret pricing legitimacy in the case of Air Greenland. These studies inform both academic theory and practical pricing strategies amid volatility.
Driven by a mission to strengthen responsible pricing and innovation governance, Sof links rigorous qualitative methods with industry partnerships. She contributes to UN SDG 9 (Industry, innovation & infrastructure) and SDG 12 (Responsible consumption & production) by offering insights into control systems that support equitable and adaptive business models. She also leads master’s‐level executive education and is active in public discourse on pricing dynamics in sectors like ticketing and real estate.
