Primary research areas
GLP-1 and Impulsivity
This research, motivated by the rapid adoption of GLP-1 receptor agonist drugs, examine how they influence impulsivity and decision-making beyond food and weight.
Acquired Taste
This research conceptualizes and measures acquired taste, examining the social and psychological returns that motivate pursuit of hard-to-like tastes. Its relevance spans upcoming challenges (e.g., adopting sustainable yet initially aversive foods) and raises questions about effort and autonomy in preference formation under algorithmic curation.
Future thinking under environmental uncertainty
This research examine how volatility in perceived futures affects how vividly people can imagine their own future, and how future orientation directs consumer attention and choice toward healthier, higher-effort options.
I study how human biology shapes consumer choice
My research starts from the the human body - shaped by evolution and biology - and examine what happens when it meets today’s commercial environment and tomorrow’s societal shifts. I focus on consumption because the major changes of our time, such as new medicines, digitalization, and debates about AI or climate, play out in commercial systems driven by consumer demand and designed to shape consumer behavior.
My work combines consumer psychology, evolutionary theory, and neuroscience to study self-control, preference formation, and future thinking.
